Welcome

I thought I would take my first blog and explain the title and the reasoning behind it a little more. I can remember several years ago watching a movie of a young boy, challenged by his teacher to help the world. He came up with the idea of "pay it forward". Pay it forward is a simple concept of helping 3 people who can't help themselves, for no reason or reward, except that they pay it forward to 3 others. It forms a chain of kindness. I never thought this could work... until I became one of those people who couldn't help myself and needed someone's help, I needed someone to pay it forward.

May 17th of 2010 my dad passed away from a massive heart attack/ stroke. Over the past year it crippled my life. That was until I went to a friend, who took time out to spend with me and guide me and love me. A friend who has helped so many others change their lives. He's a very kind hearted person who see's the best in everyone and helps them fight until they see it too. After hours and hours of advice, I was starting to feel a little guilty for wasting so much of his time, I really didn't know what to say, I didn't have anything to give him, so I just said thanks. His reply was simple and to the point "Pay it forward".

There is no way I could have helped myself, but someone came along who could help me, who could love me and invested in me. Now instead of paying him back, it's my chance to pay it forward, to love someone, to help someone who can't help themselves.

The truth is that my world had lead to an utter disappointment. Until someone came along and gave me the courage to change it. Sure, I cannot get my dad back (after much trying- trust me), but I CAN help someone who has lost their dad, give someone a shoulder, and invest in others as he invested in me! I can love someone as I was loved. I can pay it forward, and so can you!
