It was once said "You're reason and your passion are the rudder...and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burn to it's own destruction." (Kahlil Gibran) Never lose your passion. Never let anyone define your passion. Never settle for less than your greatest desire. Todays blog is simply about living the life you want to live. Find your passion and follow it! Don't stop for anything.
My personal passion is to help kids and teenagers who are struggling, whether that is from a death, abuse, abandonment whatever. Kids are faced with so many challenges these days, challenges that my eyes have been closed to until the death of my dad. Me and Jenkz were talking the other day and he told me that there are about 100 students at BHS who have lost a parent to death. That blew my mind! 100! I could not imagine going through highschool with that struggle, yet there are so many who do. However, there are also so many who fall to the way side and no one understands why. I can clearly see why they would give up. My passion is to reach out to those kids. However as the quote stated, when your passion has been broken (or paused) its one of the worst feelings! My goal is to simply be the shoulder for them to cry on, the ear to listen when no one else does, the hand to hold, and I pray if I am willing to be used for all that, God will give me the words to speak with a heart of understanding. This is my passion!
Today I challenge you to find your passion. Your passion is probably not my passion, just as my passion is not yours however if you search deep within, I believe you will find it! I'm going to end a little different today, below I have listed the quote listed in my blog... think about it and be determined to find your passion. Maybe if things are going wrong...its because you arent fufilling your passion, its become broken.
"You're reason and your passion are the rudder...and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burn to it's own destruction." (Kahlil Gibran)
