Step Back!

“One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn't pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.” (Unknown) This statement is so true. Kahlil Gibran once said "The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose". As I read this quote one thing crossed my mind, what am I staring at so hard that I am oblivious to something amazing right in front of me. What are you missing? To me it's a lot like looking at the sun. When you stare right at the sun, it's rather blinding...and painful! However, when you step back and you arent so focused on the harshness (the trials, struggles and problems in life) you see the bigger picture! And it makes for a pretty sunny day that everyone can enjoy! I know thats a terrible example probably but to me I thought it was pretty cool!

Today I challenge you that if you are going through a rough time and all you see is the problems, step back and look again. There's always another view, but sometimes we become so focused in and of ourselves we miss it... we miss it completely!
